You will learn how to synthesize concepts and theories from exercise physiology, kinesiology, measurement, psychology, and nutrition to provide a clearly defined approach to physical fitness testing and the design of individualized exercise programs. Unlike other studies in Life-style Health Coaching which typically focus on field testing for evaluating physical fitness, this study includes both field and laboratory assessment techniques. A student will find the latest information on maximal and sub-maximal graded exercise testing in healthy populations, muscular fitness testing protocols and norms for children and adults, and field tests and norms for evaluating cardio-respiratory fitness, muscular fitness, body composition, flexibility, and balance. Also discussed are preliminary health screening, risk classification, and the principles of fitness assessment, exercise prescription, and exercise program design are discussed. The remainder of the study provides in-depth coverage of assessment and exercise prescription for each of five physical fitness components: cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular fitness, body weight and composition, flexibility, and balance.

Drug-Herb-Vitamin Interactions

It is alarming to realize that most Naturopathic Colleges offer no such course as this. Consider this: “If a family physician knew nothing about interactions, would you go back to see him/or her?” So, why shouldn’t the Naturopath know as much? This study is an absolute must for the practitioner, inasmuch as it covers more than 4,500 known major interactions between pharmaceutical drugs and food specific nutrients, and herbs—for example, inhibition of vitamin K may be caused by antibiotics or iron deficiency, and may be triggered by long-term use of aspirin. This is the “kind-of-stuff” that the professional needs to know. Side effects are also discussed; consider what would happen if a Naturopath gave a client extra doses of vitamin E, garlic, and gingko, when a client is taking heavy doses of warfarin (trade name, Coumadin—legally known as “Rat Poison”). Probably the client would be dead within 24 hours.  Discussed in this study are: Combination Drugs with 250 vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other nutritional supplements. Also, Interactions for herbs and supplements are discussed, as well as understanding drugs by classifications. In addition you will learn:  depletion and interference, adverse interactions of drugs and supplements, bioavailability (that is, the indications of how herbs and supplements decrease absorption).

Doctor of Philosophy in Alternative Biblical Medicine - Course Descriptions

Apologetics

A defense of the Scripture – Every Christian to some extent is an “apologist” (one who defends the Scripture), and the world needs more Christian “apologists” than ever. Today, many people are leaving the Christian faith because they believe the Bible is full of contradictions. The truth is, the Bible when understood properly never contradicts itself. In this study, you will learn things such as archaeological discoveries that relate to events in Scripture, the fallacies of Islam, and why a good God allows evil to exist. This study provides clear, powerful, and persuasive answers to many questions. The study draws on a wealth of Bible research and point-by-point logic refined during years of lecture tours by the two authors. Hundreds of confusing passages of Scripture and many of your unanswered questions will now be explained and answered. In this study, you will find questions and answers on almost everything in the Bible, God, miracles, world religions, believing, faith, creation accounts, and much more. At the completion of this course, your faith will be stronger and more mature as you will have learned precisely why Christianity stands up to even the toughest scrutiny.
